Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey

I'm gonna cut it to you real straight: I don't like the word "nigga". I have never liked it, and as I've grown older, I am more adamant about not allowing people to use that word in reference to me (at least to my face). I'm one of those people that can't understand how a word that has slavery roots can morph into a word of friendship within a certain sector, yet be displayed to the masses. Yea, it's all about how and when you say it, but who's the judge? Is there some sort of Nigga code book that explains this whole riga-ma-ro out? Who's the nigga moderator when the usage is ambiguous, or do you just go about beating the person's head in?

While we're at it, let's make EVERY deragatory and offensive term legal. Let's just start calling women bitches, because after all, they jokingly call themselves that all the time amongst each other, right? If you don't say bitch and SOUND offensive, they can't take offense to it, right? We see it in movies, music, and even the media is allowing bitch to be used on some networks. Yet, someone calls our mother or sister a bitch or a ho and someone's making funeral arrangements.

What makes nigga so acceptable under the same guidelines? What was the exact date where people STOPPED being offended by it? Why can't we use some other 2-syllable word to indicate that someone is a friend or loyal associate, like homie or patna? Let's cut the crap and the cliche' answers and get to the crux of the matter. If someone can really break it down for me, I would really appreciate it. I still won't advocate its use, but at least then, I'll understand it. Knowledge is power!
