Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)

How long should a dream remain a dream? I always hear that it's good to have dreams, because dreams turn into goals, which turn into successes. They can span from careers to relationships to livelihood. I believe that it's always a good thing to dream. Not only does it give the body something to strive for, but it keeps the brain alive and determined.

However, there are times when a dream should remain just that. Not every dream is a good dream, nor should every thought plucked from thin air materialize. Dreams that come at the expense of others is a main reason. Sometimes, getting out our dreams could mean the livelihood of someone else could be negatively compromised, as with going into the illegal narcotics business or becoming a pimp. A dream that is to be materialized outwardly, as to effect others should be for the long term benefit.

Then again, there are times when people say a dream is not possible. "you can't do so-and-so because such-and-such." This is booty chatter to the nth power. If you know what you're doing is good and your drive is there, DO IT. I've got dreams some would say was impossible.

I had a dream of getting my music played in a club and have it be positively responded to. I was told it would be a far shot, as certain New Orleans artists have a monopoly chokehold on the market. Lo and behold, you stay on your grind, and things happen.

There's nothing wrong with a sensible dream. People have told me that I would never write again, but I am alive and well. There is no pimp juice greater than the God-driven mind. Remember that.
