Got To Be Real

Okay, maybe it's just me, but I have noticed a significant amount of single people who like to use the word "real" when describing the type of person they are attracted to. They, like most people, are not attracted to those who are artificial and "play them games" to get what they want, as opposed to coming out with what they really want. They don't want people who feel the need to floss with resources they don't have in order to impress them or used contrived, hackneyed pickup lines in the off chance it may work. Nobody wants someone who cannot become attractive on their own merit and credentials.

However, this is next to NEVER how "real" is explained. What you just read was my personal interpretation of what "real" MIGHT mean (I don't use the term). Somehow, the term "real" has turned into a copout of sorts for those who really don't know what they want, but want something to say. You can tell who has their stuff together by how they explain it. If they can chart it and list it down, it gives off the appearance of thought and individuality. HOWEVER, if you cover for the copout by using more ambigous phrases like "real gon' know real", "be bout yours", or "do you", then MAYBE you need to re-evaluate where you're trying to go with it.

Also, while I'm airing out grievances, what is with words like "gutta", "hood", "bout it", etc. in reference to a dating prospect? Of course, this does not apply to everyone (as nothing does), but for those that apply, what does that mean exactly? How "hood" must one be in order to become attractive? Yes, there is a population of people that are attracted to those that have a rugged, urban look to them. Watch how you pick them out, though. "Hood" could include going upside your head if you cross them wrong, which presents the conundrum. You yearn for "hood and gangsta", as long as it applies to outward security. Heaven help them if they get "hood and gangsta" on you. Why keep yourself on pins and needles like that? Maybe it's because I'm not in the "hood and gangsta" category, but I've been told that it presents a security and protective cloak of comfort. If someone could break it down for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanx. Good morning, by the way.
