So, I started off with my motherboard, the brain of the whole operation. This is the motherboard (mobo) I went with:
The motherboard can't exist on its own, though. It also needs a processor. I decided to run with the big dogs and pick out this processor:
The thing about these processors, though, is that they generate heat, and the faster they are, the more heat they generate. Naturally, the processor I got gets EXTREMELY hot, so I needed a BIG fan to cool it off. This is the fan I went with:
It's large, I know. This is what is looks like with the processor and fan on the motherboard:
Now that we have the brains assembled, we need a body to put it in. That's where the case comes in. This is my case of choice:
Pretty cute, huh? The rim around the power button has blue LED's, so it lights up when the computer has power supplied to it. Then, I put the brain in the body:
Pop in your peripherals (sound card, TV card, modem, DVD burner, CD burner) and a hard drive, put the case back on and BOOM! Angie is alive!
Here she is next to her big sister, Angelle:
She runs like a champ. She still needs work (bigger hard drive, for example), but she's on her way to becoming a powerhouse. Thank you for allowing me to share this joy of mine with you.
