Call Me Part 2

I remember what it was I wanted to say earlier. What the hell is up with people acting allergic to voice mail? If you want to talk to someone and you aren't able to get to them, the voice mail system is to allow you to leave them a message. For crying out loud, they pay for the voice mail, USE IT!! What makes it even funnier is when they are like "I called for you. I wanted to tell you *insert important information*, but you weren't picking up your phone." Surprised, you ask if they left a message, to which they quickly reply "no". How in the hell does it help me that you don't leave a message. Sometimes, being in a low reception area, your calls don't always show up in the call history (talking about cell phones here). A voice mail, though, STAYS there and will alert the person as soon as they get a signal again. I may not see you called, but I'll GET that voice mail! Or, I may be in a situation where I can't drop what I'm doing to pick up the phone (work, church, family event, funeral, etc.), so I can't tend to your inquiry. Once again, the voice mail comes in to protect you, so that your voice can still be heard when I AM free. Knowing this, people STILL elect to not leave a voice mail and make it my fault that I didn't get their call. Or, they will leave you a voice mail and want some kind of special adulation for GOING ALL OUT THEIR WAY to wait an extra 20 seconds to leave a voice mail. What the hell? YOU called ME!! You thought of me enough to spend the time to dial me up and wait through the rings. Am I not worth 20 more seconds? Had I picked up the phone, you'd spend more than that talking to me directly. What is the sense in this?! I don't understand it. Somebody explain this to me.
