Special Lady

While I was looking at that travesty that is Killa Season (see earlier post), I was thinking about the twisted, Willie Lynch-ish style of thinking that some people still have. I'm speaking about the widely-accepted concept of the woman getting a legal hustle (a prosperous job and/or in school for a lucrative career), while it's okay for the brotha to be a hustler, to grind on the street, risking life, freedom, and happiness. Maybe it's linked to the unspoken "date the freaks, marry the lady" thing, but whatever it is, it seems to be a twisted rationale. With a lot of hood movies I've seen, this seems to be the case. The man has no "REAL" job with steady, consistent income (may freelance a couple contracting jobs here and there, but nothing constant), while the woman is either in class or has a job while she works or is hard working in school, all the while, being all on the guy's tip. We need to switch our way of thinking to aspire for those that aspire. No offense to those that live that life, but let's believe in everybody prospering to establish the high side of family. Power to the people.
