What Kind of Man Are You

The dimed-out tennis phenom Serena Williams has been the subject of many an African-American male's sexual fantasies for a hot minute now. However, I was enraged when I was treated to this interview transcript from a recent conversation she had (whole intervie can be found here:

Ms. Williams we are all interested in your new boyfriend.

There is no new boyfriend. I stopped playing with boys when I stopped dating black guys. I have a new man in my life and yes, he's white.

So you prefer to date white men instead of black guys?

Let's be real. If you are a successful black female you only have two
choices....date outside of your race or date other successful black
females.

Are you saying there are no successful black men to date?

Of course not but lets face it, if Oprah would date outside of her
race she would be married with children now. The state of most black men is so low the only thing you can do is love them. Like a poor homeless dog. You can't expect it to protect you. You can only offer shelter and love and watch as our neighbor's pitbull protects his home and family. I, unlike Oprah, am not forced to stay within those boundaries. I was born into a new generation of black women.

Miss Williams, I have this much to say. You will never find the best of something if you don't allow yourself to explore. Every race, every gender, every category of person is stigmatized by some negative stereotype. If you allow that stereotype to cloud your judgement and allow a couple failed relationships to speak for the whole, then your summation of our entire race and gender has no bearing. The black woman is a queen and the black man is a king. Anything short of it is uncivilized. Some people don't acknowledge their royalty, but that does not make the whole devoid of their worth, either. Your loss, though. We will continue to shine and our queens will shine by our sides. A STRONG man deserves a STRONG woman and you CAN'T be a king if you aren't strong. Pass that by, and we see what kind of woman you are. Touche', Serena.

Edit: It's come to my attention that this interview is quite fake and I apologize for lashing out at Ms. Williams herself. However, I DO know that there are black women that DO have this cornholed way of thinking. I still stand by what I said, but I apologize for picking an innocent woman to aim it at. Those guilty ones know who they are, though...

Every body and their mama know this "interview" is fake. Serena herself has said so hundreds of times. Note the lack of resources such as the interviewer's name and it's anonymous source.
