Oh my goodness, what a stupid fool I was
To put on this face like I can be without you
The sheer guts to be that deep in denial
Only to realize how good you have been to me
You provided for me as long as I kept you up
You got me through tough times, made me smile
A symbol of pride, I bragged about you always
I would listen to the talk about wanting you
I had you, but I stupidly let you get away
My cavalier attitude being our downfall
"I got time," I said, with the blinders on
Though I took you for granted sometimes
I appreciate what you gave me, I still do
I let you go, thinking you would come back
Only to find that someone took my spot
And I see that it wasn't until you left me
That I finally realized how much I want you
