Heavenly Dream

Well, I'm wonderfully blessed. My birthday was wonderful. I rang it in at the Frankie Beverly and Maze concert. The first song they sang after midnight on the 20th came about was Golden Time of Day. I may make it a habit to listen to that song every year from here on (let's see if I can remember to keep it up).

I got home around 2:30 (I went against my better judgement and wanted to go to Kenny's. Needless to say, the night was so slow, they closed around 1:45). I got about 3-4 hours of sleep. From there, I went to a department meeting for work. It was mandatory, and besides, I got paid to be there. From there, I went to the house to change and went out to see my family. I found out some family members from out of town were here, and I wanted to see them. I tried going by my parents' home to see if they were home, but they weren't.

I went all the way to the other side of town to meet up with my other relatives when it happened. I started to notice a grinding sound emitting from my vehicle when I brake. I didn't know what it meant, but it made the sound suddenly, and it freaked me out. It was almost as if I hit my brakes over a bed of gravel.

I tried to put my worry aside, and I enjoyed the rest of the visit. While on the visit, my mother called me and said that the family wanted to take me out for dinner. We met up, and we ended up going to Texas Roadhouse. This place is AWESOME, lemme tell you. I got a sweet potato with marshmallows on it. Ahhhhh, just MELTS in your mouth. I left fat and happy and headed home.

I got home and tried to surf the Net for a bit, but I nodded out (I WAS running on a tiny amount of sleep, after all). I woke up in time to stop by my friend's cousin's house for cake and ice cream. We had a ball, but I was too full to eat much of the food or the cake. I do have pictures of the cake, though, so it's all good. I will be eating it today, and I can't wait. I did some prayers, did some thank you calls, and midnight for August 21 came, leaving my 24th birthday as a faded memory.

All in all, I had a wonderful day. I'm quite blessed, and I can't believe that I made it to 24!!! God is good!!
