Working Together

I gotta say, rebuilding and all is a lot harder than people will admit. Using my family's home as an example, we are in New Orleans East, which as you know was one of the hardest hit areas. We've had to do pretty much everything but build the structure. I'm looking at how much work was done to get my area to the condition that it's in and how much more work is left to be done. Putting up insulation, laying sheetrock, carpeting, floating, painting, molding, cabinets, doors, sinks, lights, etc. don't install themselves. Pardon the expression, but we are living in one big home improvement project. Sometimes, it seems overwhelming, but you look at the beauty of what is to come, and that becomes an inspiration of unspeakable magnitude. I wholeheartedly appreciate everyone who has backed the restoration effort of New Orleans citizens. I am speaking out against the stereotype that all New Orleanians are trying to get a lifetime handout and lack all sense of work. I declare poppycock on that and firmly believe in the ressurection of my hometown. Go New Orleans, go.
