Smoking

Last night, I had my first experience at a Mediterranean restaurant. More importantly, I had my first experience around the phenomenon known as "hookah". You see, hookah is a water-pipe that comes from Egypt, by which flavored tobacco is smoked. My cousins and some of their friends went out and enjoyed the hookah establishment. I, being an adament non-smoker, declined to join in on the fun, but I DID dive into some of the Mediterranean culture. Not only did I enjoy a lamb kebab wrap (they had it listed and advertised like a sandwich), but I was able to enjoy LEBANESE TEA! Oohhhhhh, that Lebanese tea is SO good! My cousin was saying that it left an aftertaste similar to the kind that toothpaste leaves. I disagreed, but I know I had 2 subsequent refills of what I called "liquid sex" and enjoyed it all the same.

The other folks in my party were interested in the hookah, which they enjoyed for hours. There were 7 of them (again, I was the only odd man out who didn't smoke), so there were 2 hookahs set up, with an original flavor combo in each one. They were puffing and passing, laughing and chillin' easily into the early hours of the morning. I, on the other hand, became designated as the "picture man", taking pictures of my fam while they were blowing smoke. That in itself was very funny, as well as seeing some of the cafe-goers adjusting to the setting and surroundings of a Mediterranean restaurant. I will not post any of the pictures, because I am not sure if they want it posted, but just know that at the end of the night, a good time was had by all.
