I haven't been able to appreciate the genius of this movie until recently. I've watched this movie everyday for the last week and a half. It's been a BIG inspiration with me and making my music. I think it's because the main character DJay is just like me: homemade studio, making music from scratch, wanting to be heard, using a little to create a lot, and the whole DJ thing (it's D-JAY, mayne!!). I strongly encourage anyone who hasn't seen this movie to give it a lookover. The subtleties and the feeling that the characters have for the craft that they are working in will touch you, whether you are a musician or not. I will end this blog with my favorite quote from the movie.
"Everybody has the right....the Goddamn RIGHT....to contribute a VERSE!"
