If you go to that link, it will take you to a page where you can download an interview that took place between a shock DJ by the name of Charlemagne the Great and a "video model" by the name of Buffy the Body, who looks like this:
As you can see, she is gluticularly gifted. He comes out the gate unleashing undeserved hate on this woman. She rolls with the punches for a good bit of the verbal assault until he starts talking about her looking like a der caught in the headlights. That's where she began to snap. She brought out the many stages of ghetto that lie within and let him have it. You can tell where even HE realizes he's gotten her so mad, that even him getting out of character won't smooth things over.
This is where my problem lies. I understand that it's your job to agitate people and get a rise out of them for ratings and to have a cheap laugh at someone's expense. The key is knowing when the hell to STOP!!! Too often, I witness problems arising because one person didn't know when to quit joking around or quit upping the ante, so to speak. They always have to outtalk, outwit, outthink, and outdo whoever they are verbally sparring with. That's when they step out of their boundary and offend people on a personal level and things get SERIOUS. I can't imagine how many murders and assaults probably started out as someone with loose lips flapping their gums too much.
I like a good laugh just like the rest of us, but not everyone has the same sense of humor. What you consider to be a comment that was just a "lighthearted joke" could be terribly offensive to the other person and in this day and age, that could mean your life. Take a second to THINK about what you're going to say before you say it.
I know that in the heat of the moment, you're being attacked and at times, you say whatever you have to in order to get the person off your back. This does not mean that it is okay for us to lose track with reality and our common sense. I don't know what the statistics are, but there are a LOT of Americans that own firearms, both legally and otherwise. Not saying that every comment you make will result in a bullet-induced homocide, but let's just kill the "going too far" part. Makes it a better place for all of us.
